The Grand Palace, known as Pra Borom Maharatchawong in Thai, is located adjacent to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Built in 1882, the exterior is a blend of Italian renaissance and Thai architecture. Today it only used by the King on certain ceremonial occasions such as Coronation Day.
