The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is one of the most famous sites in Bangkok. Known as Wat Pra Kaew in Thai, the 945,000 sq.m. grounds encompass over 100 buildings that represent 200 years of royal history. The wat (temple) structures are extremely colorful, being comprrised of gleaming, gilded chedis, polished orange and green roof tiles, mosaic-encrusted pillars and rich marble pediments.
