Bangkok Hotels Near Shopping
There are districts in Bangkok which are famed for various attractions and the Pratunam area is one which has attracted shoppers and trade buyers for years. At the heart of that shopping area is one of the most established Bangkok shopping hotels in the city--that is the Indra Regent, and anyone who regularly comes to the City of Angels will know it well. Pratunam is a great mix of street vendors and shopping malls with ready-to-wear garments being the main focus of attention. There are stalls and more stalls selling clothes, shoes, and fashion accessories at wholesale prices, but there also places to buy Thai crafts, music and films DVD's or CD's, jewelry and bags. This is the reason for the trade buyers who come here from all over the world to source the outfits which will go on sale in their home country.
For the tourist visitor, Indra Regent is the most convenient of all Bangkok 4 star hotels close to shopping outlets. The hotel has all the facilities needed for a good stay in Bangkok, and one of their most popular attractions is the traditional Thai dance and dinner. On the hotel's 4th floor is the Sala Thai Restaurant, a 13th century masterpiece teak pavilion and a tribute to Thailand's glorious past as the Kingdom of Siam. The dance performance features different eras of Thai history, accompanied by the sounds of classical Thai instruments.
The hotel has excellent leisure facilities in the form of an outside pool and sun deck on the 4th floor where guests will also find Spa Indra. Relaxing after a hard day's shopping is what most visitors enjoy and treatments from Spa Indra at the Indra Regent will leave the weary traveler with a rejuvenated mind, body and spirit.
Hotel Near Airport Rail Link
One of the most recent additions to the Bangkok International Airport services is the opening of the rail link directly into the heart of the city. It has made the journey from Suvarnabhumi Airport much, much quicker, after many years of having to takes taxis, with their associated traffic hold ups. The Indra Regent is not only close to the shopping districts but is also a hotel near the airport rail link.
There are two services from the airport and these can be found within the airport complex, on the lower level. The Airport Express is a non stop train which runs to the Makkasan station, but for the Indra Regent the more convenient is the City Line which goes through to Ratchaprarop station, and that is just a few minutes from the Indra Regent hotel! It will be useful to note the following instructions to get to the hotel from the station. Upon arrival at Ratchaprarop station, take the elevator down to first floor. Outside the elevator, you will see the railway which you must cross, keep walking along the footpath in front of shophouses for about 5 minutes, then cross a side road to a big building which is the hotel building's back side, Indra Square shopping centre. Go inside the building and look for the hotel entrance (McDonald's is also near this entrance).
For those who are not bringing too much luggage this is an ideal and cost effective option. The fare is just 40 Baht, and there are trains running from 6 in the morning until just after midnight. The trains are efficiently operated and journey time is a mere 23 minutes--that compares very well with the taxi which could take anything up to two hours.
So the Indra Regent has found itself in one of the most convenient spots in the city and one which offers great accommodation at reasonable prices. Add to that the fact that the location is close to those bargain shopping opportunities and guests will soon discover they have chosen well.
Hotels in Pratunam
In a city as popular as Bangkok there are certainly lots of choices when it comes to selecting accommodation. Visitors who have researched the city will discover that it is well spread out, and there are districts which have particular attractions. The trick to visiting Bangkok is to have a central hotel such as one of the Pratunam hotels. These are close enough to the public transport system to make it easy to get around and the Indra Regent scores very well on all counts. The visitor who is keen on shops and finding bargains close by will also enjoy looking at the high end items with the proximity of the hotels in Pratunam to the smart shopping malls being a big advantage.
With its location close to the City Line and the very efficient Skytrain system, Indra Regent is ideal for local facilities and attractions as well as those in other parts of the city. The river is easily reached by Skytrain (BTS) with a short journey to the Phaya Thai station and a change to the main system. That line links to the underground MRT system, so there are few places in Bangkok which cannot be reached using these two rail systems.
But closer to the Indra Regent Hotel, the local amenities include not only the great shops at the Pratunam centres but the swish malls. As a hotel near Central World in Ratchaprasong and Siam Square, you'll find high value goods from all over the world. The Siam Paragon is most definitely one of the top shopping malls of the country, and even Asia. There are fine shops and restaurants here as well as the unique Siam Ocean World attraction in the lower level--and all just one kilometre away!
